About the ICC
The innovative International Competence Center (ICC) training facility was opened at the IBA Dosimetry headquarters in Schwarzenbruck, Germany, in July 2012. The ICC is the first training center in the world where trainees can simulate treatment verification and quality assurance systems without patient traffic, in a facility that mirrors a real clinical environment.
The aim of the ICC is to train healthcare professionals in using Radiation Therapy and Medical Imaging Dosimetry equipment safer and more efficiently.
The training courses will be held by renowned clinical speakers as well as by highly qualified IBA staff members.
Apart from the trainings in the ICC facilities at the IBA Dosimetry headquarters we will offer courses in selected top-level clinics worldwide.

I am very glad and proud to be part of the IBA Dosimetry family.
IBA Dosimetry, a leading provider of dosimetry QA systems, is a business unit within the IBA Group. Our dosimetric hardware and software for Radiation Oncology and Diagnostic Radiology make meaningful contributions to high-quality machine and patient QA/QC processes. Our solutions also play a major role in machine acceptance and commissioning as well as quality control of treatment planning systems.
Dosimetry is the science of measuring, calculating, and evaluating doses of radiation absorbed. It is used to ensure that machine-delivered radiation to patients is accurate and properly calibrated. This is critical to patient safety.
Therefore, the precise use of dosimetry solutions in the field of cancer treatment and diagnosis is of utmost importance. Believing in the significance of didactic and practical education, we established the ICC (International Competence Center) in 2012 with a focus on applied training.
With the ICC, IBA Dosimetry is an indispensable partner for users in dosimetric trainings. We organize training programs that increase device-patient QA/QC levels in both Radiation Oncology and Diagnostic Radiology. We have one Elekta Linac and one Siemens Luminos dRf machine under our roof; utilizing real devices in a clinic-like environment raises the training effectiveness to the highest level. The trainings are given by IBA staff and academicians from universities or hospitals.
Healthcare professionals meeting at ICC from all over the world see a huge benefit in exchanging their experience and information on dosimetry, QA/QC, commissioning, treatment planning, and patient safety while receiving comprehensive trainings. We strongly believe that these hands-on trainings and experience sharing increases user confidence which contributes to improved quality of cancer treatments and diagnoses.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ICC trainings could not occur as planned. We have now started again to prepare in-person trainings to be held at the ICC under new leadership. I would like to thank my predecessor, Dr. Lutz Müller, for his significant achievements for the ICC.
The IBA Dosimetry education committee continues to focus on providing you with excellent and efficient trainings delivered with customer-first service. We look forward to welcoming you!
Dr. Salih Gurdalli
Head Of ICC / Product Manager

The idea behind the establishment of the ICC is to improve cancer treatment outcomes by providing high-quality dosimetry training to healthcare professionals involved in the planning, Quality Assurance and delivery of radiation therapy and in Acceptance and Quality Assurance of Medical Imaging Devices. With the ICC we have created an environment that promotes an international exchange of knowledge and experiences among those involved in measuring radiation doses and assuring the performance of Imaging in Medicine. Our comprehensive training courses will include topics such as efficient and effective LINAC and RTPS commissioning, verifying complex IMRT and rotational treatments in 2D and 3D, and regulatory and quality assurance matters in radiation therapy and Medical Imaging.
